History and Guiding Tenets
We have been designing business solutions for over 30 years, coming from a small business background this began with custom coding for a family owned business, payroll for about 20 employees, and it never stopped from there.
We were formerly Bay Business Services but when we moved away from Legacy software, we rebranded as Empowered Media. The rebranding is more then the result of moving to the Internet for platforming our products, it’s about embracing the changes in technology and society, especially as AI is changing so much, and the job landscape is coping to try to deal with these changes, we also try to focus on embracing the online environment as the new business platform going forward, this will mean atoumations, AI, and a whole new dimension in how business relationships are handled, you will see that influence in some of platforms that focus on ethical communication styles, fact checking, and reputation building, especially in our social media core products like TalkBack and even our Credential management tool offerings.
Our major products were for vertical applications like Video Rental (Video Magic) stores in the late 90s and into 2000s and various government departments such as Homemaker offices, Social Service agencies (StatsMate), and our largest product was BillMate, which was used in medical offices across Nova Scotia, over a span of 30 plus years, to handle their medical billings and other office requirements.
We also developed a few job tracking systems for computer service departments during that time, and some smaller one off products as required along the way, being programmers, we tend to do that more than even be realize .
The intention and delivery in every case was always to provide an easy to use and innovative system that helped people and made things work better, that’s our mantra basically.
What we do
